Purpose

By industry standards, an object is a self-sufficient entity that contains data as well as the structures and functions that are used to manipulate the data. An object is also a reusable entity that is based on software specifications. A specification is a complete description of a system object. Each object has one or more of its own specifications.

In JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, an object is a reusable entity based on software specifications that are created by JD Edwards Tools.

This document describes the various JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Objects and how they are stored. It also mentions a typical Object Development Life Cycle.

Scope

This document is intended for system administrators, developers, and technical consultants who are working with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne objects in Object Management Workbench.
