EnterpriseOne Windows client experiences delays at startup and while saving modified objects to local specs when local JDE.INI parameter is set:


 The issue manifests itself in two possible ways:

  1. When starting the EnterpriseOne Windows client, it can take over one minute for the interface to become available.
  2. Saving objects in Form Design Aid (FDA) or Report Design Aid (RDA) can also take over one minute to complete.

If parameter AppServerInstalled is set to 0 in local JDE.INI there are no apparent performance issues.  In other words, the EnterpriseOne interface will be available in few seconds, as well as saving objects in design tools will complete in less than a second.

Disabling the Windows system restore functionality has no impact on the issue.
