Symptoms
This document explains how to install EnterpriseOne into Pluggable Databases in Oracle 12cR1 and Higher.
Oracle 12cR1 database is supported beginning with Tools Release 9.1.4.
In order to install EnterpriseOne into pluggable databases (PDB) in Oracle 12cR1 and higher, the tnsnames.ora file used by the E1 Platform Pack installer must be configured to run against the PDB. If the tnsnames.ora file is not configured to run against the PDB, the PP installer will fail if it runs against the container database, as the container database is not meant to be used as the production database.
Consider these factors:
- The tnsnames.ora file used by the Platform Pack installer must include a connection to a PDB, which included the PDB-unique Service Name and the ConnectString.
- The PDB connection can exist alone or alongside a CDB connection within the tnsnames.ora file.
- The same connection must be configured when using Oracle 12cR1 as the local database on the Deployment Server and/or Web Development clients.
- The tnsnames.ora file in the Oracle client on the logic server also needs to be set up to connect to the PDB.
