Purpose

Information Center: Overview of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Product Costing and Manufacturing Accounting > Information Center: Using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Product Costing & Manufacturing Accounting > Document 1614504.1

Activity Based Costing provides greater flexibility in recording accounting information associated with the credit side of a manufacturing IH labor journal entry transaction.  Activity Based Costing can be used with the Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing Cost Accounting applications of EnterpriseOne.

This document can be used in conjunction with the JDE Advanced Cost Accounting Guide.  Here, the focus is on Activity Based Costing for Manufacturing (MFG Accounting, Product Costing, and Lean / Orderless MFG processes).

Scope

This document is intended for users that need to use Activity Based Costing to flex the Activity Code field (ATCB) from the Routing Instructions (P3112 / F3112) as the Business Unit for the credit side of Labor Accruals AAI 3401 IH journal entries, within Manufacturing Accounting, Product Costing, and Lean / Orderless MFG.

The intent is to group like work centers together into a single department / dispatch group / Activity Code to better define the credit side of manufacturing Labor Accruals journal entries.  A basic understanding of E1 Shop Floor Control (SFC), Product Data Management (PDM), Product Costing, MFG Accounting, and Flex Accounting setup is required.
