Inventory movement between the blend system and inventory (ERP) system needs to flow without the operations being closed. As well, there is a need for the ability to reevaluate WIP.
There is a problem with timing between when the bottling operation is closed and when the actual bottling manufacturing work order starts. For example, a bottling operation is created but cannot be closed because not all other operations in the chain have been completed/closed. The timing issue comes into play because when the bottling operation closes it triggers the move from blend to inventory. As the bottling operation has not been closed, but the manufacturing bottling work order is started with, technically, no inventory. So there are no costs to the work order material.
Additionally, there is the inability to execute materials planning because there is no visibility to what is currently in the tanks (IVV) or/and what is committed until all operations are closed.
