When Customer Alpha Name has more than 40 bytes (F0101 ALPH), Shipment Confirmation (P4205) updates a Japanese Alpha name value (=40 byte) into the TREX field of the Item Ledger (F4111) 30 bytes, and the Alpha name is truncated because the "Shift Code" is dropped for the double byte character.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
At Double Byte environment
1) The customer Alpha Name (ALPH.F0101) is 40 characters.
2) Enter Sales Order and process Ship Confirmation
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, Double byte character like: Japanese description is corruped on AS400 server.
The truncated Customer/Supplier name value is updated to Cardex in TREX field is preventing data from getting displayed or presented properly on UBE output.
