E1: PRINT: Copying Default Printer Definition in P98616 Does Not Carry Over Report Name and Version Name Values (Doc ID 1639274.1)

Last updated on JULY 25, 2017

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 to 9.2 [Release 8.98 to 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When copying a default printer definition specific to Report and Version using P98616 application, Report Name and Version Name values are not preserved.
Report Name changes to *ALL and Version Name becomes blank.

This can cause mistakes to happen when CNC administrator intends to make a duplicate of the exact same setting just for a different user/role.
Such mistakes can impact report output functionality, i.e.: suddenly ALL reports are being redirected to a different printer because of the default setting (Report Name = *ALL) being applied when it was not intended.

For application release 9.0 and 9.1

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to fat client.
  2. Go into Report Management > Batch Processing Setup > Printers > Define Default Printer.
  3. Add a default printer setting.  Enter valid values for the following:
    • User/Role
    • Report Name
    • Version Name
    • Environment
    • Printer Name
    • Host Name
    • Object Status
  4. Select the added record and click Copy.
  5. In the Default Printer Revisions screen, Report Name is ALL and Version Name is blank.

For application release 9.2

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to web client.
  2. Open P98616 and then select "Define Default Printer".

    • User/Role
