Last updated on DECEMBER 23, 2015

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In some industries a Sales Order may be filled with an allowance for overages or shortages (+ or - a % of the total). When a Sales Order (SO) for a Line Type W item is entered the Work Order (WO) created is directly linked to the Sales Order. If the WO is completed short but within the defined threshold the WO Completions applications has processing options that will set the WO status to Complete. Even though the WO is flagged as complete the remaining balance on the SO is left at an open status which results in MRP generating new order messages for the item.
