Symptoms

9.1 P4021 Supply/Demand Inquiry

Enhancement Bug 19014604, Reschedule Sales Orders Through Supply/Demand Screen, P4021.

The ability to change sales order information from the Supply/Demand application functions differently in different releases.

  1. In 8.12 using the Customer Service Inquiry Row Exit from the Supply/Demand screen displays the Sales Order Detail Revisions Screen.  The user can then directly change the scheduled dates on the order.
  2. In 9.0 and 9.1, using the Customer Service Inquiry Row Exit from the Supply/Demand screen displays the Customer Service Inquiry Screen.  The user cannot modify dates on the order from the inquiry screen.  Instead they have to take an additional Row Exit to SO Detail Revisions to make date modifications.

Steps to demonstrate the functionality in releases Xe and 8.12:

  1. Access P4021, Supply/Demand, and inquire on an item having sales orders (SO) as the order type
  2. Select the line to be edited
  3. Activate the row exit and choose Customer Service Inquiry (Form W4210E)
  4. P4210 sales order detail opens for the order
  5. Make the required change and click Ok
  6. Supply/Demand screen displays

Steps to demonstrate the functionality in releases 9.0 and 9.1:

  1. Access P4021, Supply/Demand, and inquire on an item having sales orders (SO) as the order type
  2. Select the line to be edited
  3. Activate the row exit and choose Customer Service Inquiry (Form W4210E)
  4. P4210, Customer Service Inquiry displays
  5. Select a sales order from the list
  6. Activate the row exit and choose Order, then SO Detail Revision
  7. make the required changes and click Ok
  8. Return to the Customer Service Inquiry form (Form W4210E)
  9. Exit from this screen to return to the Supply/Demand screen

Please note:  Testing was performed with the same version of P4210 entered on the Versions tab of P4021.  This version has processing option 3 on the Process tab set to enter directly into the sales order detail and not require the place order screen to display.

The addition of a row exit option to directly access the sales order detail screen will streamline the editing of sales orders and cause fewer keystrokes and screen changes for users.  The functionality in Xe and 8.12 may have been incorrect, as the row exit is named “Customer Service Inquiry,” not “Sales Order Details.”
