P1701 Enhancement - All Cat Codes on the grid.
The P1701 Query by Example (QBE) grid does not currently have the full fixed asset and equipment category codes, even though the business view includes these as columns. Only the first 10 Category Codes are displayed in the QBE search grid on P1701. This limits the users that need to use particular codes within the full 33 cat codes.
Often, the first 23 Category Codes are also shared with Finance. So the Maintenance team may not have full flexibility to choose which of the 33 are used for equipment search and select. Equipment Master files, F1201 and F1217, have 23 (F1201) category codes plus 10 Equipment Category Codes (F1217) equals 33 total Category Code fields. But only first 10 Category Codes are displayed in the QBE search grid on P1701.
In many Maintenance installs (with multiple sites or with fleet equipment), Maintenance would need to consume more than 25 Category Codes to classify their equipment. All 33 Cat Codes are in the Business View V1201R used in P1701 already.
P1701 would be a very powerful search engine for equipment if it would have all 33 Cat Codes as its columns. Today, customers have to modify P1701 to bring these fields into the grid. It is a 10 min modification. But it is still a mod.
Client request a form design change to the grid of P1701 to include all category code columns from business view V1201R to bring cat codes 1 - 33 to the grid.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. From Menu G1711, access P1701, form W1701A.
2. From P1701, take the customize grid drop down, show all columns.
3. Review columns displayed QBE grid. The F1201 cat codes 1-10 are included in the grid. Cat codes 11-33 are not included in the grid.
4. Take the Tools databrowser exit to view columns that are available to the form. Business view V1201R includes cat codes F1201 1-10 and 11-23. It also includes F1217 cat codes 1-10. So the databrowser view includes all 33 cat codes.
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use the QBE line to limit records by the combined F1201 and F1217 equipment category codes.
