Last updated on NOVEMBER 06, 2017
Applies to:JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
When adding and saving or attempting to update a new Excel using OLE Media Object functionality in an application, a dialogue box appears "Do you want to save the changes made to "Worksheet in In-place container". If Yes or No is selected, the browser hangs and crashes.
The following steps are taken to encounter the issue
- Create a Text media object and select Save.
- Re-open the Media Object Viewer and select OLE and the OLEQUE from the dropdown list. Select Microsoft Excel Worksheet from the Insert Object list.
- Enter some data into the Excel worksheet
- Press the Save button on the Media Object Viewer.
- The following dialogue box displays and the Excel application is displayed on the workstation toolbar.
If Yes is selected, it prompt the user to save to their PC My Documents folder and defaults the file name as Worksheet in In-Place Container.xls. This locks the EnterpriseOne applications which can only be shutdown using Windows Task Manager and then Excel worksheet is not saved.
If no is selected, a Windows Error displays and on selecting Excel, the application is opened to a blank worksheet.
The Media Object Viewer displays the OLE Icon, but no preview. If the Media Object Viewer - Save is selected, the user receives an Internet Explorer Error and EnterpriseOne is shutdown. The Excel OLE icon is not displayed when returning back to the application. If the user attempts to add another Excel OLE, the original OLE icon displays. However, if the user selects this icon, the following message displays.
