E1: 34: Add Proc Option to Select Message Types 34 MT (Doc ID 1926524.1)

Last updated on MARCH 02, 2017

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 9.1 version, MRP R3483 and R3482

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
This is an enhancement to MRP requested to allow unique selection of Message Types to populate into F3411.

The client would like to have a processing option in R3482 and R3483 that would allow separate versions of MRP to run separate UDC tables of MRP Message Types. JDE allows super users to eliminate Increase and Decrease messages in order to 'clean up' MRP Message Detail. However, for multi industry companies, there may not be agreement on whether these message types are useful. In order to allow separate divisions the choice of which message types they wish to work with, please add a processing option that would allow a custom UDC table to be used for specific versions.

The Message Types, 34/MT, can be modified to eliminate specific messages. It would be useful to be able to set up copies of the 34/MT that could be called by the processing options of the MRP application so that different versions of MRP could result in different message sets. Example - one version may use an alternate 34/MT so that no G messages are created while an other version may call an alternate 34/MT that does not produce A and T messages.
.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Add a processing option (similar to how the Parameters tab allows you to select the Quantity Type QT) to MRP to allow a Message Type 34/MT table to be specified.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use unique combinations of 34 MT within the same company or division.
