Planning Schedule for Rate Based Components of Rate Based Parents
The rate component, of a parent rate, does not plan (schedule) correctly when there are planned parent rate messages, in the case of using simple consolidation.
The Time Series and Messages for a top level rate parent with a lower level rate component, do not complete the sub assembly item in time to satisfy the planned parent requirements. This results in a inventory shortfall for the sub assembly item until the end of a rate period or until a later period.
Note that the planning for the rate component is OK if a component of a discrete item, but a parent Rate Item with Create Rate (planned) messages, creates component create rate messages that do not complete in time to satisfy the planned parent requirements. This drives the =EA sub assembly quantities negative, until the rate catches up.
