E1: BSFN: After Running a Custom BSFN, System Locks Up with Error - Error opening index file (Doc ID 1956658.1)

Symptoms

When running custom BSFNs to produce XML output in a file with XERCES. It runs multiple transactions fine but then after a period of inactivity (or log out), the E1 web client throws a pop-up message that BSFN failed to execute. 

Call Object Kernel crashes and nothing works.  The only way to fix the issue is to restart E1 service.
