E1: 43: Enhancement Request Functionality be Added to Make Item Location Editable in the Receipt Routing Grid (P43250)
(Doc ID 1970523.1)

Applies to:JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Procurement and Subcontract Management - Version 9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Current functionality of P43250, Movement and Disposition:
If the material is in a receipt routing step prior to STK, the next routing step in the receipt routing sequence is defaulted into the grid. The user must enter an option code to advance the material to the next routing step. Options for advancing material are:
1 - Move Quantity
4 - Split into multiple locations
Selecting option 4 on a line will automatically take the user to the multi-location screen where quantity from the lot may be split into multiple locations.
Option 4 must be used to manage the location field of the item in the receipt route and is currently the only method to maintain the location.
The issues with this design are as follows:
Standard use case of moving to new routing step:
If a PO line is received into multiple lots at one or more locations, or if a single lot is received into multiple locations, the user is forced to go to the multi-location screen to enter a location for each lot/location in the receipt route. When 300 lots are received against a single purchase order line, the user must go into the multi-location screen 300 times to be able to designate a new location for each lot as it is advanced to the new receipt routing step. The current application design prevents the ability to paste a large number of records to the grid.
Material Location Changes:
When the user needs to change the location of the material in a receipt routing step and does not wish to advance the material to the next receipt routing step, they must perform the same steps as above however they must not click ok after returning to P43025 after updating the location on the multi-location screen. If they click OK after returning from updating the location, the material gets moved to a new receipt routing step. The user does have the ability to override the Move Oper field to change it to the current routing step but cases have been seen where material is moved to the next routing step regardless of what was overwritten in the grid.
Client Request that Enhancement be done as follows:
An enhancement is requested to modify the receipt routing movement and disposition application to facilitate manipulation of the location on the same screen/grid as the receipt route. The location is currently not editable in the grid and the only option to edit location is after using option 4 which redirects the user to the multi-location screen. A processing option should also be added to control whether the next or current receipt routing step should default into the grid so that different versions may be used for moving material between routing steps or moving material between locations within the same routing step. If the processing option is set to default the next routing step into the grid, the use case would be moving material to the next routing step. If the processing option is set to default the current routing step into the grid, the use case would be to simply update the location of material in the current routing step.
