Symptoms

EDI 860 Inbound PO Change (R47131)

EDI 860 Inbound PO Change (R47131) fails to perform a record reservation on a sales order and its related work order because of a line of code that was entered incorrectly.

Line 218 in the Do Section has an expression surrounded with double quotes as follows: “ltrim([VA rpt_RelatedWo_DOCO],0)”. The quotes need to be removed from this expression or else the system will evaluate the data within the quotes as text string and will not be able to return the desired value to the program.

Line 218 should appear as follows with no quotation marks:
VA rpt_szRRGenericKey_GENKEY = ltrim([VA rpt_RelatedWo_DOCO],0)

The issue can be verified with the following steps:

  1. Enter Design View in OMW for the EDI Inbound PO Change (R47131)
  2. Start the Report Design Aid
  3. In the Report Detail Section, right click and select Event Rules from the menu
  4. In Event Rules Design, select the Do Section
  5. Observe that Line 218 in the Do Section has an expression surrounded with double quotes as follows: “ltrim([VA rpt_RelatedWo_DOCO],0)”.
  6. The quotes need to be removed from this expression or else the system will evaluate the data within the quotes as text string and will not be able to reserve the sales order and its related work order.
