The Lot Availability form (P41280) doesn't allow users the the ability to query by purchase order number (or any other number). The request is to be check lot availability by purchase order number and shade (grade). Additionally, the request is for the form to have query by example capability for Memo Lot 1, Memo Lot 2, and Memo Lot 3 fields.

The reason for this request is the following:
Fabric rolls are issued to work orders based upon shade and purchase order number. The reason for this approach is quality control. Mixing lots or shade could result in the back side of a jean being a difference shade, or the shrinkage occurring at different rates, resulting in poor quality. Each purchase order is graded by shade and a shrinkage test is performed. The shrinkage results are three measurements - Width, Length, and Twist. These results are to be stored in the lot memo fields as the values are larger than the lot category codes, which are 3 characters in length. Without the capability of querying the system by item number, purchase order number, and/or shrinkage number, the assigning of fabric to the production process would be difficult.
