Symptoms

Customer requires that the packaging for the pieces/shipment/load related to the ST updated to the OT receipt routing details similarly to the nature of the data that would be received from a supplier when an ASN is processed.  The nature of the ASN processing is that the Shipping outer containers (Container/Cage/Pallet) are reflected in the ASN TARE and the inner pieces are reflected in the ASN PACK.  When data is created in this manner, then it is a simple matter of a label being scanned and the related receipt routing details being presented to the user, or easily processed for an update.

They are able to use RF technology to easily process data received from an outside supplier when ASN details are supplied, but are not able to automate this process when they are a supplier to another part of the business.

They have suggested that perhaps the source data for the update of the routing details for the OT order would be created using the F4216 data (when this data exists).  This F4216 data provides the ASN type of information, so that the receipt routing details are created to reflect the packaging format, with the ASN TARE and ASN PACK fields being updated from F4216 into the ASN TARE and ASN PACK in F43121.
