E1: 34: Simple Consolidation Expires Lots Early When They Are Not In the Consolidation Branch (Doc ID 1997358.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 16, 2015

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.1 to 9.1 [Release 9.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When MRP is ran for Simple Consolidation with out Lot Expiration processing
the Consolidation is OK. When Lot Expiration Date processing is enabled the
Lots that Expire in future periods are not included in the Supply prior to
the expiration date resulting in over ordering the item.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set up an Item with Inventory available in Branch A where the Lot expires
in the future but inside of the planning horizon. Create Demand for the Item
in Branch B.
2. Set up MRP to use Simple Consolidation (NOT Branch Relatioships).
3. Run MRP
4. Review Messages or Supply and Demand and note that Orders are created
early to replace the expiring material even though it could have been used to
meet some of the existing demand (demand that happens prior to the lot
expiration date but is in Branch B)
