E1: 45: 2nd Free Good Not Returned if First Free Good Item is Backordered and Inventory Commitment Preference Activated (Doc ID 2072814.1)

Symptoms

EnterpriseOne 9.1
With an advanced pricing adjustment designed to return two free good items, if the first free good item goes on backorder, the system does not return second free good item to the sales order detail. The sales order is created via P42101 and the parent item is not backordered.

Instead of seeing the following in the sales order detail:
Line Number 1.000 - Main Item
Line Number 1.010 - Free Good Item 1
Line Number 1.020 - Free Good Item 2

The following is seen:
Line Number 1.000 - Main Item
Line Number 1.010 - Free Good Item 1

When an item has two free goods associated to it, if the first of the free good items goes on backorder, the system does not add the second free good that has availability. This only occurs if the Inventory Commitment Preference is active behind Sales Order Entry (P4210) and the problem exists even if the Header Branch/Plant (B/P) and Detail (B/P) are the same.

1. An Advanced Pricing Schedule (P4070) is defined to include an Adjustment which will return two free goods.

2. The Adjustment Schedule Detail (P4072) is defined. Taking the Free Goods Row exit.

3. Via the Free Good Revisions (P4073), add two free good items.

4. Summary Availability (P41202) for the first free good item. Ensure that no inventory exists.

5. Summary Availability (P41202) for the second free good item. Ensure that adequate inventory exists.

6. For a specific customer, the Customer Billing Instructions (P03013) is defined with the desired Adjustment Schedule.

7. Via P40306, define an Inventory Commitment Preference for the saleable main item (the one that is to invoke the two free good items).

8. Before creating the sales order, ensure that Processing Option 2 of the Preference tab of P4210 is defined with a ‘1’ to activate inventory commitment preferences.

9. Create the sales order for the saleable item. Enter a different Header B/P than the one defined in the Inventory Commitment Preference. Note that the system correctly returns the desired B/P (from the Inventory Commitment Preference) into the sales order detail. An "Order Quantity Exceeds what’s Available" warning is seen.

10. After accepting the order and re-inquiring on it, note that only the first free good item is returned. This is the free good that does not have inventory. The system correctly puts it on backorder, but does NOT return the second free good item to the sales order.

11. Testing with the same Sales Order Header and Detail B/Ps (the Inventory Commitment Preference B/P) returns the same results as the second free good item is not returned to the order.
