E1: 41: Unit of Measure Conversion (P41002/P41003) (Doc ID 2102783.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2021

Businesses that distribute products (inventory) require unit of measure conversion capabilities in order to perform daily operations and process business transactions successfully. All businesses require two types of unit of measure conversions:

Item Unit of Measure Conversions

Some conversions are item-specific.  For example the number of each in a case, the number of cases on a pallet, and the number of pallets in a truckload can be different for each different product.

Standard Unit of Measure Conversions

Other conversions are universal and fixed. For example the number of fluid ounces in a pint, and the number of centimeters in a meter, or the number of each in a dozen, are standard conversions that are not item-specific.

EnterpriseOne unit of measure conversion capabilities are comprehensive and flexible. Programs in many different EnterpriseOne modules depend upon unit of measure conversions, including:

  • Inventory Management
  • Warehouse Management
  • Manufacturing
  • Procurement
  • Sales
  • Pricing
  • Transportation Management
  • General Accounting
