E1: JAS : Grids are Displayed with the Wrong Sorting Order on a Specific JVM (Doc ID 2104665.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2017

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On a new JAS instance when results on a grid are sorted ascending in a table, business view or databrowser, returns an incorrect sorting order, with numbers after alpha characters instead of the usual BINARY sort with numbers before alpha characters.

Another JAS instance ( on a different Windows server) performs the same queries to the same database using the same environment and returns the data in the expected sorting order (numbers before alpha characters)..

Example:

BINARY SORT WEST_EUROPEAN SORT
2ZAD AAD
9AAD QAD
AAD ZRD
QAD 2ZAD
ZRD 9AAD

Database: Oracle 11.2.0.3 on Oracle Linux 6.4
JAS Servers: Weblogic server 10.3.5 on Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) 2008 R2 and OAS 10g on Windows server 2003 x86

JDK versions:
OAS: 1.5.0_06
WLS: 1.6.0_24

JDBC driver versions:
OAS: ojdbc14.jar
WLS: ojdbc6.jar

O/S Language:
Both English

Note: Due to the use of different JVMs/JDKs, they have been configured to use different serialized tables.

Changes

WLS machine is a new install on a newer version of Windows, JDBC driver and JDK in comparison with OAS.
