E1: 42: Sell By Date In the Past Not Taken Into Consideration When Running The Backorder Release UBE (R42118) (Doc ID 2125487.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 24, 2016

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Inventory Management - Version 8.12 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If a Sales Order is entered for an Item/Lot (Commitment Date Method set at a "2") with the Lot Sell By Date is in the past - and the lot expiry date in the future -  the order will be placed on backorder after running the Print Pick Slips UBE. If the user decides to run the Backorder Release (R42118), the UBE will not look at the Sell By Date and treats the Item/Lot as if it is available quantity when it is actually not. This can essentially release quantity that is not eligible for sale.

This has been determined a set up issue. In order for Commitment Date Method 2 (Commit by Sell By Date) to work, the Commitment Method has to be 3 (Commit Using Lot Date) in Item branch.
