E1: 90CG:Incorrect Entitlement For Case When Serial Number Is Primary Identifier (Doc ID 2129779.1)

Symptoms

When Serial Number is primary identifier and we enter a case for a serial number that has no active contract line the entitlement check in Case entry is showing a valid contract. With the first line number that is active in the contract


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Entitlement rule sequence 1 is specific to Serial Number and B/P and sequence 2 is generic to B/P
1. Fixed Asset Constants is set with Serial Number as primary identifier
2. Create 3 equipments with serial number 914242 ,914242-1 & 914242-2
3. Create contract for all the 3 equipments, Line 1 for serial number 914242,Line 2 for serial number 914242-1 and Line 3 for serial number 914242-2
4. Make sure that contract line 1 & line 2 are not valid ( End date less than today's date) and line 3 for serial number 914242-2 is valid ( End date greater than today's date)
5. Go to P17500 and click add. ( make sure that Entitlement Check processing is ON)
6. Enter case for serial number 914242 for which there is no valid contract. ( Expired)
7. Note that system entitled incorrect contract line 3 which is not for serial number 914242 but for serial number 914242-2
