The Websphere 8.5.5 agent running on Solaris 11.2 will not report the correct status of the servers on Server Manager Console. Because if this, HTML instance cannot be created nor managed by Server Manager Console.
The JDK the agent is installed with indicates a "Running" status from server manager, but after clicking on the instance, the Server1 instance is stopped as seen below:
When the JDK is changed to the IBM JDK WebSphere is using, the status is "Undetermined" from the Server Manager home screen as seen below:
The following errors can be seen in the WebSphere agent log:
