E1: FDA: Problem Deleting Long Expression in Expression Manager after 9.2 Tools Release Upgrade (Doc ID 2188399.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

After upgrading tools release to, there is a problem when deleting a long multi-line expression in Expression Manager.

In the following screenshot, if user highlight the entire expression (which spans 4 lines) and hit the delete button, it does not delete all 4 lines but deletes only first line.

If user deletes the long expression from the end of the expression by pressing the backspace button multiple times, the first character on lines 2, 3 and 4, etc are not deleted.

Prior to the 9.2 tools upgrade, developers were able to delete a multi-line expression in the Expression Manager in its entirety. A simple highlight and delete would delete the entire expression.

After the tools upgrade to 9.2, the highlight and delete appears to work only for an expression with a single line. Deleting from the end of the multi-line expression retains the first character on subsequent expression lines. The work around is to either delete the expression from the Event Rules Design window or to delete and start over.
