P0801->P050181 (Employee DBA Instructions) / B0700005 (Pre-Payroll DBA Calculation)
With the Enhanced PDBA Group Limits functionality there is a gap introduced for existing implementations where more than two Group DBA annual limits are required. In the instance of 457 Deferred Comp there are three limits necessary (18K, 24K, and 36K), and one workaround is to pursue group annual limit overrides at the Employee DBA Instructions level. This workaround is pursued because separate limits cannot be defined for each DBA while accumulating the sum of employee deductions/benefits from all three DBAs. However when Group Limit Annual (GADL) values are input on the employee DBA instructions for each DBA as necessary, the Group DBAs actually stop calculating at the lowest Group Limit Annual value found rather than following the DBA-specific group limit overrides.
- End-date the DBAs as their annual limit is reached - for example end-date the employee DBA Instructions record for the DBA with $18,000 annual limit once the annual amount in the group reaches $18,000.
- Manipulate DBA history through Interim payments to maintain the total annual amounts on the DBA with the highest annual group limit.
