Some customers have reported that when they change the kit parent cost, it does not adjust the cost for the entire kit. If the system allows to override the parent item unit cost, it does not make any sense as the components will still have the same unit cost, meaning that the component unit cost will not adjust with parent item unit cost.
See the below example:
Component 1 unit cost - 25
Component 2 unit cost - 50
The parent unit cost sums up to 75 after the kit window appears and then the user overrides the cost to 100 and then saves the order.
Parent item unit cost - 100
Component 1- unit cost - 25
Component 2-unit cost - 50
At the time of receipt (P4312) the components will show up, not the kit parent so we are doing receipt of 75 and not of 100.
Oracle does not expect customers to override parent unit cost.
