E1: UBE: Unable to Read Processing Option Values when UBE is Called by a Business Function (Doc ID 2191676.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 20, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A custom Application calls a Named Event Rule (NER) Business function asychronously and this NER will in turn call a Universal Batch Engine (UBE) report asynchronously. This UBE has a Processing Option Template tied to the UBE version and within the event rules of the UBE, it calls the EmailMergeLetter business function (B0500725) to send email. The "Send To" email address is updated in the UBE's Processing Option (PO) and it is passed in to the EmailMergeLetter business function.

It is found that when UBE is called from a NER, the PO values cannot be pass in to the EmailMergeLetter business function. The "Send To" email address is blank. However, if the UBE is run from Batch Version (BV) directly, the PO value can be passed in.

From the UBE log, it is found that nothing is passed into the szTo parameter. The email address from the PO value is not passed in.
