E1: SVM: Change the Name from Save Empty Debug Log to Something Meaningful (Doc ID 2204774.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 29, 2016

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Within Server Manager Console, navigate to Enterprise Server instance, on Configuration section from left part of the screen chose Batch Processing and here "Save Empty Debug Log" is the setting for "UBESaveLogFile" from JDE.INI. The name is not consistent with the name of the JDE.INI setting and it is not meaningful as to what it does. The name should be changed from "Save Empty Debug Log" to something meaningful and consistent with "UBESaveLogFile" setting from JDE.INI

This setting configures whether the UBE log should be kept if the UBE logging level is zero (Error Messages). If logging is not enabled and the job finished without errors (e.g. went to a 'D' status) the log, which would not contain any useful information, will be deleted. If ube logging is enabled or the job did not complete successfully this setting does not have any effect, and the log file will be kept. This setting applies to UBEs only; it does not apply to table conversions. UBESaveLogFile determines whether to keep or delete the UBE trace logs, only when KeepLog in [DEBUG] is set to 0.
