PCW07 Work with Collections
PCW07 appears to be designed to copy entire Collections of Items from the current Collection to the next Collection. However in the Apparel Industry there is normally a new catalogue twice a year with an all-new range of SKUs. Hence having all of this year's catalogue SKUs in next year's catalogue is highly unlikely. Creating new Collection Structures in PCW07 is extremely difficult and slow hence users will naturally copy this year's Collection Structure to create next year's. However they then need to go into the Collection Detail and delete all the SKUs from the next year's catalogue. Requirement is to stop PCW07 copying the Items/SKUs in the old Collection to the new Collection. Client only needs the structure of the Collection. If any SKU carry-over they are the exception rather than the rule.
Hence to consider the following enhancement: To insert a Processing Option and/or on-screen option to PCW07 so that when the Copy is used it does NOT copy the Items in the FCW07 Collection Detail Table. This should be a relatively simple change as the FCW07 holds the Short Item Number in field C9ITM.Hence if the records copied are only those where C9ITM are blank then this would copy the structure not the Items. This would save a lot of time in setting up new Catalogues in the Apparel Industry where ALL the SKUs change EVERY Year and between EVERY Season.
