When sending the Order information to OTM through the Freight Request interface it does not send the actual Ship Unit quantity, weight and Volume to OTM.
For example: Item may have several different Packing configuration within the warehouse, like or example
shipped in Pack of 4
shipped in Pack of 8
Shipped in Pack of 12
Shipped in Pack of 24
When a Freight requests is created the total total Item quantity is sent to OTM, but no Packaging information is sent, i.e. No Ship Unit quantity along
with the weight and Volume of the individual ship units.
When shipping through Air freight it is required to have the actual quantity of Boxes to be Shipped as well as the actual Weight and Volume of those Boxes
in order to calculate Chargeable weight.
In addition Weight, Volume and Quantity is required to do Container Optimization in OTM. OTM will help the Planners to determine how many
containers are required, e.g. 20Ft/40Ft based on OTM optimization Logic.
