When enabling cross-docking, you can do so at Item Master level OR Item Branch level. You can also do both.

Kit Items (K stocking type) are not supported with cross-docking.

Setup is with K stocking type and Cross-Docking OFF in Item Master. The Item Branch record is set with S stocking type and Cross-Docking ON.

With this setup, cross-docking is not working. While you can tie the OP to the SO in P4614, at receipt time, SO will not get updated, the back-order will not get released.

Changing the stocking type in Item Master to S, cross docking works fine.

Cross-Docking Commitments Function (B4601100) has an exclusive rule that checks if the item is a kit item and will not process if true. This check is done with the stocking type from Item Master.
