Advanced Job Forecasting:
There is a need to be able to restrict users from viewing all of the Cost Codes on a job for the Job Forecast. A group of Cost Codes have been reserved at the end of the Job for Administrative use. Management does not want users to have access to view or forecast these cost codes.
Management may make changes to the Contingencies on a job. This is done for the purpose of making sure that identified risks on the job have been properly reserved. Additionally, in the beginning of a job management may determine to add additional contingency in order to avoid being too optimistic in recognizing profit at the outset of the job.
At other companies this same risk management technique is used, plus there may be certain overhead costs charged to the job that operations people are not held accountable for, and management does not want operations people to know what is charged to the specific jobs.
To accomplish this objective there needs to be a Processing Option added to the P51F100 program that will restrict the Cost Codes displayed on the “Edit Job Forecast” (P51F100, Form W51F100A).
The different branches of the company including management can not perform their jobs without other users becoming aware of it. Confusion is caused when overhead cost are charged to the job that operations people are not accountable for. Management does not want the overhead and other changes that are made to specific job to be display to all users.
