E1: 17: F4220 Serial Number Passed to F1201 Truncated when R17024 is Generated (Doc ID 2319791.1)

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Service Management - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When sales orders use the Basic Serial Numbers functionality (F4220), upon generating the R17024 to create the Equipment Master, the system will use the SRL1 field in the F4220 and populate the ASID field in the F1201 with that value. However, the SRL1 has a data dictionary size of 30 whereas the ASID has a size of 25. This causes the ASID.F1201 serial number to be truncated in the event that the SRL1.F4220 serial number has more than 25 digits.

The request is to increase the data dictionary field size for the ASID to accommodate the SRL1 field size to avoid truncation when the R17024 is run.
