Symptoms

Server manager is installed on WebSphere 8.5.5
After upgrading tools release to 9.2.2.1 , users cannot sign out of server manager console.

When the Sign Out link is clicked, the following error can be seen in the browser window:

Further investigation shows following error in the SystemOut.log of Websphere for server manager console :
