Goal

Before proceeding with the steps provided in this document for installing certificates, first make sure that the HTTP connection is working as expected by referring to the following document on how to setup and configure and test AIS server Health Check.  This will insure that the system to installed and configured correctly before adding any certificate information.

E1: AIS: ORCH: How to Setup and Run Health Check Status (JWT) to Verify that Configuration is Correct for Notifications and Scheduler (Doc ID 2702208.1)

We don't recommend or support self-signed certificates for the main reason that they are not considered safe from a security perspective.  It is recommended to use a certificate issued by Certificate Authorities (CAs), organizations that are trusted to verify the identity and legitimacy of any entity requesting a certificate.

When using self-signed certificates, you will need to check that the certificate has been imported properly to the cacerts file for the AIS and HTML server. And also that it is installed correctly within server manager.  See the Troubleshooting section below.

Scenario 1:

AIS uses HTTP protocol and HTML uses HTTPS protocol.  This solution will show you how you can configure AIS WebLogic Server so that two systems can communicate without a Handshake error.

Scenario 2:

Both AIS and HTML are using HTTPS protocol.
