Goal

How to apply wild card character "*" automatically for every void open search via QBE field of an interactive application? Basically customer wants to perform QBE search without applying prefix or suffix as asterisks

For Example : They have customer names like

CUSTOMER FIELD

***************

John
Milton
Robin
Chung
Zing
Lunar

Now they want to search all records  having customer name with "O" character by giving search criteria as O . Since  they have given search criteria just O and it doesn't return any  results ,  as its quite obvious that database doesn't have any customer name with that matching records as O. To get the results, system should perform search with wild card character asterisks by adding prefix and suffix as  *O* and than the results will be as follows

CUSTOMER FIELD

***************

John
Milton
Robin

But Users don't want to apply  prefix or suffix as asterisks when searching records via QBE Query. They want it default for every search.
