Purpose

Starting November 1, 2018, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne will begin delivering ESUs (Electronic Software Updates) and Cumulative Updates in a way which requires Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 x86 (32-bit) Redistributable Libraries be installed on the Deployment Server. In preparation for this change we encourage you to install these redistributable libraries now to avoid the symptoms described below.

NOTE: If Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 is already installed or will be installed on the Deployment Server before installing an ESU or Update, the redistributable libraries are included with Visual Studio 2017 and do not need to be installed separately.

Also as of of November 2018, the latest version of Change Assistant will require Visual Studio 2017 Redistributable Libraries x86 (32-bit) when signing on to EnterpriseOne to deploy ESUs using Change Assistant for ALL applications releases. This is NOT required if you are only using Change Assistant to search and download.
