E1: WRKFLW: Media Object Text Attachment Created Using HTML Editor Displays <BR/> Tags When Sent as Email Attachment of Send Message Extended System Function (Doc ID 2430172.1)

Last updated on JUNE 11, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

If there is a media object text attachment that is created using non active-X HTML  editor ,  the text in blob contains<br/> tags to mark new line characters. When this saved text is sent as an attachment of an email via system function "Send Message Extended", the email recipient receives an attachment file with these tags instead of line break characters. When viewed in any text viewer or specific browsers such as chrome or firefox ,  the file shows the <br/> tags instead of line breaks causing  multiple lines in attachment to appear as single line.

For example :
Actual media object text attachment appears as below when viewed in MO viewer :

T h i s   i s   f i r s t   l i n e
T h i s   i s   s e c o n d   l i n e
T h i s   i s   t h i r d   l i n e
T h i s   i s   l a s t   l i n e

When this is passed as an email attachment in send message extended system function , the file attached in email shows below text

T h i s   i s   f i r s t   l i n e < b r / > T h i s   i s   s e c o n d   l i n e < b r / > T h i s   i s   t h i r d   l i n e < b r / > T h i s   i s   l a s t   l i n e < b r /

Internet Explorer shows the attachment text file correctly.
