E1: 41/42/49: The Shipment Number Is Deleted When Sales Order Is Updated Because the UOM Conversion P41002 Is Incorrect Set (Doc ID 2450168.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 04, 2019

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Inventory Management - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The system does not check if the item UOM conversion rules (P41002) are correctly set when it saves the changes (Scheduled Pick , Promised Ship Date , Promised Delivery) in an existing Transportation Sales Order . This order can be saved and note that the first line of the order does not have Shipment number, but the second line has shipment number.

1.Set P49002 Transportation Constants as follow :
-tab Constants > Single Order Consolidation
-tab UOM Defaults/Status Code :
     -Weight = KG
     -Cubes = M3
     -Dimension = MT
     -Volume = LT
2.Set an Item in P4101 Item Master with the following unit of measure :
-Tab Basic Item Data, Primary UOM = EA
-Tab Weights and Measures , Weight = KG , Volume = M3
3.Set P41002 Item Unit of Measure Conversion for an item as follow :
1EA = 1 KG , 1 EA = 1 M3, 1 PL = 24 CA, 1 CA = 18 EA
4.Enter a Transportation Sales order P4210 / P42101 with 2 lines for the item above and the following details :
-Order Date is current date ( 20.06.2018)
-Requested date is in the future (10.07.2018)
The application generated a Shipment Number for both lines of the order.
5.In P41002, delete the UOM conversion of item for 1 EA = 1 M3 (Volume).
6.Access the Transportation Sales Order P4210 / P42101 and change Scheduled Pick , Promised Ship Date , Promised Delivery for both lines. The application allows to save the changes of the order without checking the item UOM conversion rules . This is incorrect.
7.Re-inquire on the Transportation Sales Order and note that line 1.000 does not have Shipment number, but line 2.000 does.
8.If it tries to enter a new Transportation Sales Order P4210 / P42101, as soon as it enters line 1 , the system throws the hard error 4161 - Unit of Measure Conversion Error.
This behavior of the application is correct.
Note that same issue happens in both application : P4210 and P42101

If the Item UOM conversion rules (P41002) are incorrectly set , the Sales order application (P4210 / P42101) has not to allow saving the updates ( Scheduled Pick , Promised Ship Date , Promised Delivery) in an existing Transportation Sales Order .
