E1: VERTEX: How to Change the Vertex Password on AS400 (Doc ID 2478337.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 02, 2022

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In 9.2, the Vertex database user password is now encrypted in F7038T. In previous releases, the password was stored in plain-text in F7308, so the password could be updated manually with services down. This prevented the vertex user ID from getting disabled while the AS400 and the E1 vertex passwords were being changed to be synchronized.

In 9.2, services have to be up to access P7308 and make the change to the password. However, if there is a mismatch between the password defined in P7308 and the password at the AS400 level, the AS400 Vertex user profile can be disabled.

What is the recommended procedure to change the Vertex password in P7308?
