E1: 30: P30201 Multi-level Form is Not Timing Out When Processing Over 1,000,000 Records (Doc ID 2487550.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 13, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Product Data Management - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When inquiring on an item in P30201 for an item with around about one million records (1,000,000) or several tens of thousands, the system runs for at least 30 minutes. It appears to end without problem. However, it only returns a fraction of the records but kicks all users off the server as the UBE eventually kills the kernel by creating a zombie.

The request is to have the system return an error that would provide visibility to the user and also prevent the inquiry to crash the server by killing the kernel and creating a zombie.

  1. Go into P30201 and inquire on an item with tens of thousands up to over a million records.
  2. Return 30 minutes later as the system appears to complete normally.
  3. Note that the form returns only a small fraction of the records that the Material Where Used List UBE (R30420) returns without problem.
  4. The inquiry "crashes" the server by killing with kernel with a zombie, forcing all users off the system and the server to be re-started.
