E1: PRINT: Modifications to Printer Configuration Details (Style, Printer Definition Language etc) are Not Saved from P98616 from Web Client If Printer Name is Defined in Upper Case Letters (Doc ID 2495206.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 17, 2019

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.97 and Prior and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Administrators are not able to modify  printer configuration details such as printing style (Simplex, Duplex) or Printer Definition Language( Postscript , PCL ) from P98616 application on web clients.  After modifying the details, when OK button is pressed, no error appears on screen. However when inquiring again on the same printer, the changes are not reflected, indicating that the changed values were not saved for this printer.

This issue is observed specific to the printers which are defined with printer names in UPPER case letters. Since web clients do not allow printer names in upper case, it is evident that these printers were created through P98616 application on windows fat client machines.
