E1: 1099: Text File Select Replace or Append for Electronic File Text File IRSTTAX.txt (Doc ID 2504522.1)

Symptoms

Issue:

Users are given the option (unless the number of return exceeds 250 then its required) to transmit electronically their 1099 (MISC, DIV, INT) to the IRS. The present design is to use the program P04515A to locate and export the data from the 1099 Worktable - F04515OW. The text file is create on the Enterprise server which is subsequently pulled and transmitted to the IRS. The preparer can't access the Enterprise Server due to security reason and therefore can't determine if a IRS.txt file already exist. It it does, then the data is appended to the file this causing a possible duplication or including last year's return.

Desired Outcome:

Need to create a new dialog box to be displayed asking the preparer if the file exist on the Enterprise server to either 'Append' or 'Replace'.
