E1: XMLP: Report Definition Outputs Do Not Print Successfully As Printer Jobs Disappear from Printer's Queue Immediately Without Printing (Doc ID 2505640.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 13, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Unable to print the XMLP jobs. When the output is sent to the printer via "Print Immediate", the output doesn't get printed. The output document gets listed in the queue of the printer on the print server but disappears immediately. Same thing happens even when the print option is used directly as seen in the screen shot below.
When printed via the print option in Adobe, the printing is successful. In this case, as per the properties of the PDF output, the page count is displayed with the exact number of pages.
For all .PDF documents that are generated by standard JDE UBEs, the number of pages in page count of the properties is the exact page count. However, for all .PDF documents generated via BI Publisher, the printer selection screen shows "Page Count 0" in the properties regardless of the number of pages.

When defined as post script and sent to a laser printer, the output is successful.
