E1: LDAP: LDAP Authentication Fails - Unable to find the value for attribute in LDAP (Doc ID 2515415.1)

Symptoms

LDAP authentication is failing when certain attributes are used to identify E1 user IDs. For example, here are the errors that appear in the Security Kernel debug logs when long user IDs are enabled with USRSRCHATR mapped to sAMAccountName and E1USRIDATR mapped to uid:

As you can see, the LDAP search is successful when searching on the sAMAccountName attribute, but fails when searching for the uid attribute.
