E1: 41: P42101/P4210 Incorrect Branch Plant for Inventory Commitment (Doc ID 2533398.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The customer is applying preferences and has encountered an issue is application outcome.
When entering an order within soft commit it is expected by us that the preferred Branch is taken, thereby generating an error that Item Branch Record does not exist.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.Inventory Commitment Preference setup to take stock from Branch/Plant W02
2.Branch W02 is not existing for item 128930518600
3.Enter order for customer within soft commit period: see that preferred Branch W02 is not taken, but instead the Header Branch is taken
4.Enter order for customer outside soft commit (in future commit): see that preferred Branch W02 is taken, and correctly an error is generated that Item Branch Record does not exist

Expected behavior: For the client it is important to give the sales order entry employee a trigger on this (otherwise items will not be delivered without knowing).
