E1:ORCH Is it Possible to Use the Description instead of the Index Number for Combo List Boxes (Doc ID 2537494.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 08, 2020

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Using the standard Leave Entry/P07640(form W07640D in add mode) application and selecting the value from the Leave Type combo box.

The screen calls for a leave type, and have the service request set to a specific value (for the inputs that are required).

In the DEV environment, there are different codes and it lists them in alphabetical order. So for example if using value 4, the description may be Vacation.

However, when this orchestration is promoted to a different environment, like PY, it may have different UDC values, to the default value of Vacation may be the 7th item in the list.

But the Orchestration will always bring back the value that is in value #4 in the list. Very rarely have the same codes in all environments due to set up and testing.
