E1: 31: 0294 Error "Item Branch Does Not Exist" Error When Performing Inventory Issue for Serialized Component with Text Line on its BOM (Doc ID 2558315.1)

Symptoms

When performing Inventory issue of serialized components for a work order, getting the error "Item Branch Does not exist" (0294). This happens when there is a text line on the Bill of Material with the stock components


The issue can duplicated at will with the following steps

1. Create a parent manufactured serialized item Cost methods 07/08 . I used

lot process type 7

2. Create a purchased serialized item with Cost Methods 07/08. I used lot

process type 7

3. Create a T line type N stocking type item

4. Add a Bill of Material for the Parent manufactured item

5. Adjust inventory for the component serialized items

6. Create a work order for the Serialized parent qty = 3

7. Inquire on the work order and take the Row exit for serial numbers to

assign serial numbers manually for the parent items

8. Now before attaching the parts list interactively set the manufacturing

constants commitment control to Soft at Creation of Parts List. Clear cache

9. Now attach the parts list interactively to the work order

10.Inquire on the work order in P31113 issues to issue the stock component

11.Take the Row exit for serial numbers to populate a parent serial number in

the header

12.Now click into the detail line to issue one serialized component using the

multi-locations window from the Row Exit

13.Select a serial number with inventory and click ok

14.The system takes you back to the detail screen where error 0294 (Item

Branch Record Does Not Exit) is generated
